Flight Simulator Mac – The Winner!

And you’re reading my uncensored review of what I really thought about a Pro Flight Simulator for Mac and PC users.

Why am I writing this? Well, when I was thinking about buying a flight simulation mac game for my Mac, there weren’t many real reviews around so I thought I’d write one to help any of you who are in the same position I was. I wanted the best flight simulator with the most accurate flight simulator controls and I know you want the same.

But be warned, I’m into both the good and the bad points, so if that’s something you might not want to hear, then you may as well leave now.

So heres my review:

It certainly seems that Pro Flight Simulator is one of the best selling flight simulator games at presence. It is being hyped like the next Microsoft flight simulator but better. When I first found it though I didn’t expect much because I was already fairly disappointed with some of the other online flight simulators I had bought and even downloaded for free. (Whats that saying…? If it looks to good to be true, it usually is. That was my experience with free games)

The first thing that I always look for when flying in aeroplane flight simulators is the scenery. Thats the bit that really makes me enjoy this type of game. I have traveled to a degree in real life but I have certainly not flown around the world. Thumbs up from flight simulator mac .com – Pro Flight Simulator looks a bit like “Google Maps” and I can see the pyramids. Plus the fact that the weather changes while your flying makes flying through the rain over England feel even more real! CLICK HERE for full Screen shots.

The next important factor is the life span of the mac flight simulator. One of my concerns when I played on PC was the “boringness” and low lifespan in my opinion of MS Flight Simulator X. I do not want to buy a game and get bored after a few hours… that would just be a waste of my precious cash. Through the current “financial climate” I want to know that I am spending my spare cash well and on the best flight simulator mac game. So heres more good news – theres over 100 aircraft available ( I forget the exact number, plus they keep adding more in free updates) ranging from Blackbirds to helicopters. Now I will admit, I have never flown a real plane but I have played plenty of flight simulators. Using the flight simulator Controls to manoeuvre the aircraft and using the cockpit functions seems to be as real as flight simulators get to the real thing. The fact that all the dials work is a good start, then the fact that you need to use them it great and really makes you feel that your needed captain:)

There are some bad/annoying bits though – You cannot just go into the computer games shop and buy it. It seems the developers have kept it to themselves. If you have an internet connection above 1 meg then Im sure you will be fine but mine is only 0.5meg so I had to download it over night. You do still get the discs/pack etc though via the post. Same as ordering online. A small price to pay you may argue for one of the best flight simulator mac games

Also the game is slightly overwhelming to start with because there is so much choice. I was slightly scared of the beast I had downloaded for the first half hour, but I guess this turns into a good point once you have played around for with it for an hour.

To conclude - This is one of the most balanced and perfect flight simulator for mac available! Pro Flight Simulator is undoubtably the best of the bunch I have used on Mac, and like I said I have played expensive packages like Microsoft flight simulator X and most of the online flight simulators including the free downloads that I will not waste mine or your time mentioning. If you want the most realistic and best flight simulator mac out there right now without the risk of wasting your time and money then I can certainly recommend this as my favourite!

Update on flight simulator mac

Hi guys,

Its been around one month since my last post (been busy) on flight simulator mac, but I have stayed close to the subject. I have tested a few more flight simulator games, the new microsoft version played through an emulator, but it was really laggy on my Macbook Pro. Strange…

I’m in process on putting up a video for the site of me playing but it may take a few weeks to get the capture quality right.

So in the meen time – Keep it up on pro flight simulator!

Best Flight Simulators

I like to think that a particular type of person likes to us a Mac. A person that cares about style, feel, usability etc. So when we search Google for “Mac flight simulator” I’m sure  were looking for a flight simulator that looks good (style), seems realistic (feel), and above all is easy to use and fun (usability). Only the best flight simulator will do and then do our Mac’s justice.

When I had a PC it was easy… I would just go on the MS flight simulator x site, check out the latest version and buy it online – Simples. But theres this whole competition thing now between MS and Mac so if I want to play the new Microsoft Flight Simulator X then I need to download 3rd party programs to “hack” the system. I don’t want to do that!

So Whats best flight simulator recipe?

Video Tutorials – Even if you are an experienced flight simulator user its always good do watch and follow a quick crash course to understand how the new flight simulator cockpit works.

Photo realistic scenery – This is perhaps obvious, but some of the flying games I have tested on my Mac have looked rubbish. I want to be able to fly from New York to Tokyo via my home town and request a fly by of my very house! (Top Gun fans will understand me)

Huge choice of aircraft – WW2 fighter plane today, Jumbo jet tomorrow, and maybe a chopper  in between. Without choice you can soon get bored with flight simulation so its massively important to have a wide variety of aircraft and great flight simulator controls to keep your attention long term.

Flight simulation controls (as mentioned above) – I don’t want to invest in a flight simulator for mac that doesn’t even operate like flight simulators should, do you? I want the cockpit to be fully interactive so that I’m experiencing the best I can through my Mac. Yet at the same time the game must support me using a keyboard and mouse, as well as a flight joystick so that I have the choice of set-up and option to play while I’m perhaps out with my MacBook and want some flight simulator mac ACTION!

Flight Simulator Mac – Review *****

Flight Simulator Mac is brand new and only days (maybe hours) away from launching. I have only recently purchased and fallen in love with my new Mac, but the best flight simulator was the first thing I started looking for as soon as I started to learn my way around the Mac OSX.

So what is coming soon? Well it certainly isn’t going to be a “Mac Vs PC” site. Its going to be a completely unbiased review of a flight simulator for Mac that took me ages to find simply because I could not just buy the latest Microsoft flight simulator X without having to install all sorts of emulators and stuff that I just did not want.

I was looking for a realistic flight sim game for weeks and I found Pro Flight Simulator, and guess what? Its a flight simulator Mac I will be putting a full review up over the next day or so…
